Welcome to Little Orleans Campground
Little Orleans Campground is located on 222 acres of beautiful woodlands in the Upper Potomac River Valley in Western Maryland and provides a total camping experience. There is always something to see and do regardless of the season. The tent and RV campsites are spaciously located within the forest area for your nature enjoyment.
Each site has a fire ring and a picnic table, and each RV site has electric, water, and sewer. Full-service cabins are also available for rental.
Enjoy the natural beauty of Western Maryland with camping options for tent campers, RV travelers, and cabin guests.
Outdoor Recreation and Nearby Attractions
The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal is located beside the Potomac River, approximately one-half mile to the south, providing additional opportunities for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. There is also a boat ramp at that point on the river that is ideal for canoeing, kayaking, and other small craft. Local outfitters are available to help with your needs; please check our local links.
Little Orleans Campground is also at the western terminus of the Western Maryland Rail Trail, offering 27 miles of paved trail for biking and hiking.
Green Ridge State Forest
Immediately to the north of the campground is the 43,000-acre Green Ridge State Forest, which offers numerous hiking trails, scenic spots, and nearby mountain biking trails.
Fishing and Nature
Fifteenmile Creek runs through the property and is a stocked trout stream. For younger visitors, there is also a small fishing pond located by the main facility, complemented by ducks.
ATV Trails and Nearby Adventures
ATV trails are available in nearby Pennsylvania's Buchanan State Forest. Allegany County allows ATVs to be utilized on public roads under certain conditions and with a paid permit.
